You are fairly new to the online world and wondering which is better? A blog, or a website? Both can come in handy, but I’m going to break down the reasons why a frequently updated blog is the best way to increase leads and sales to your business.
But this first begs the question: why even have a blog?
Blogging is one of the best ways to get traffic to your product or service as the content you put out there is indexed by search engines for years to come. So write one blog post, and someone could be searching for that amazing article you wrote 10 years down the road – long after you’ve written it.
A blog is also your central hub which tells people what you are all about. So you as you are putting content on other social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, you can put your logo or a link to anything you share and drive additional traffic to your blog for more leads and sales.
A blog is also exponentially more beneficial than just a regular website. Think about how many pages are on a website. Probably not many, right? And think about how often you update those pages. (How often can you update an About Us page, you know?)
Every time you write a blog post, it’s one more indexed page to your website which means it’s one more opportunity for you to show up in search engines and drive traffic to your website in an organic search. It’s also one more cue to Google and other search engines that your website is active and that they should be checking it frequently to see what new content to surface.
Blogging also helps you get discovered on social media. Every time you write a blog post, you’re creating content that people can share on social networks such as Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest – which helps expose your website to an entirely new, fresh audience.
The best blogs answer common questions their leads and customers have. If you are consistently creating content that’s helpful for your target customer, it will help establish you as an authority in their eyes.
